Connected Living at Kinwell at South Lyon
The right support for this part of the journey
For many families, there comes a time when traditional Assisted Living may no longer feel like enough, yet Memory Care doesn't seem like the right fit.
Maybe you've noticed the small things. A missed appointment here, a repeated question there. They're still the person you've always known, still finding joy in the people and moments they love. But you know something has changed. And knowing what to do next isn't always easy.
That's why we created Connected Living.
Connected Living is a boutique, small-house neighborhood at Kinwell at South Lyon designed for seniors experiencing early memory changes who can still manage much of daily life on their own. It provides the right balance of connection, wellness, and personalized support while helping residents maintain the independence and confidence that remain so important.
Choosing the next step doesn't have to be overwhelming. We're here to help you understand your options and determine what feels right for your loved one.
Questions You May Be Asking
When someone you love begins experiencing early memory changes, it's natural to have questions. You may have already found yourself wondering...
- How much help does my loved one really need today?
- Are these changes simply part of aging, or is it time for a little more support?
- How do I support their independence while making sure they're safe and thriving?
- Which level of care is right for my loved one?
- How do I know when it's time to make a change?
Signs Your Loved One May Benefit from Connected Living
The questions above often begin with small observations. Memory changes rarely happen all at once. They show up in small moments that, over time, start to add up. You might recognize some of these:
One or two of these on their own may simply be part of aging. But if you've been noticing these changes more often, it's worth a conversation.
Let's Talk It Through.
Our family advisors are here to listen, answer your questions, and help you explore your options at your own pace. No pressure. Just guidance.
Life in Connected Living
Life in Connected Living is built around familiarity, companionship, and the comfort of knowing what comes next. For older adults experiencing early signs of memory loss, those predictable rhythms can foster confidence, reduce uncertainty, and help residents continue living each day to the fullest.
What daily life includes:
- Cognitive wellness
- Movement and physical activity
- Social connections
- Familiar routines
- Personalized encouragement and reminders
Because it's not about filling the day. It's about helping residents continue living well.
Designed Small, On Purpose
Connected Living is home to just 14 residents. It's a small-house neighborhood with its own living room, open kitchen, and engagement area. It creates the warmth and familiarity of a family home.
Because the neighborhood is intentionally small, the same dedicated team has more opportunities to build meaningful relationships, recognize subtle changes as they happen, and provide more one-on-one attention. For someone experiencing memory changes, that sense of consistency isn't just comforting. It's grounding.
Finding the Right Level of Support
Each person’s needs are different. Understanding Assisted Living, Connected Living, and Memory Care can help families feel more confident about the next step.

Residents also enjoy social opportunities, wellness programming, dining, and community amenities.
Connected Living

Connected Living builds on the foundation of Assisted Living by adding:
