Provision Living Beaumont Centre team grows ahead of grand opening

The team of Provision Living at Beaumont Centre continues to grow with the opening of the new community slated for early summer. Executive Director Emily Abner, who started her position in late February, has added three more to the management group.

“I have worked in senior care for a number of years, and this company is committed to quality and that’s what our seniors deserve,” she said. Abner, who previously worked in another senior living community in Lexington, Ky., said her new team brings a vast amount of experience and care that their elders will need in the new facility.

Additions to Management Team

Prior to Abner coming on board, Amber Lakin began her position as Community Relations Manager. She brings more than 15 years of experience to the position and worked in a number of elder care-related organizations such as the Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and serves on the board for the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging Foundation.

Danielle Poremba starts May 1 as the Memory Care Manager for Provision Living Beaumont Centre. Abner said her certification as a dementia practitioner stood apart from everyone else. Poremba also has years of experience in senior housing as a social services director and having served in roles as activities coordinator and assistant to Administrator. “She’s bringing a great deal of knowledge to the community for families who may be dealing with dementia and all the trials and tribulations that may be associated,” Abner said. She will be charged with overseeing the memory care program, which holds 32 units.

Amy Abshire, a registered nurse, has more than 15 years experience in senior care management as she assumes the role of Director of Nursing. Abshire has varying management experience in skilled, personal and home health care. She comes to Provision Living from another established Lexington senior care facility and begins her position April 19.

Jason Marcum comes on board to Provision Living as its Maintenance Director. Abner, who has worked previously with Marcum, said he brings attentiveness and responsiveness to the facility, which is critical in the care of the residents who will reside with them. He’s worked in senior housing for more than 10 years and previously held the role of director of plant operations. He’s also HVAC certified along with many other building repair and grounds management talents.

Abner said she has also hired a chef who will be formally announced soon.

Provision Living of Beaumont Centre will open its doors this June, and residents will begin moving in the following month. The 88,000-square-foot community consists of several memory care neighborhoods that offer safe, intimate areas suited to the lifestyles and needs of its memory care residents. Provision Living offers a person-directed care model, which offers each family a dedicated support coordinator who focuses on the individual needs of the resident.
