Dementia Care Expert Brings Experience and Knowledge to Role at Provision Living

Provision Living, an $18 million memory care community currently under construction in Beaumont Centre, today announced the company hired Carla Guthrie for the position of Family Support Mentor as part of its management team.  Guthrie, a resident of Lexington, brings to the position more than 18 years’ experience in dementia care.

Her past management experience and knowledge about dementia care will certainly be an asset to our community, residents and their families.”

Dedicated Family Support

In her new role as family support mentor, Guthrie will help families with disease education, community resources, care options and consultation. Guthrie previously worked for a large eldercare company with 26 communities in five states. There she held various senior level positions in which she was responsible for developing programs, managing and training staff, and providing support, mentoring and guidance to the executive director’s in her market area. Guthrie was a key contributor in driving resident occupancy and creating resident-focused, high-commitment work teams to support the organization.

Guthrie also previously worked as a program manager for the Best Friends Adult Day Program for the Alzheimer Association of Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana. She was awarded Professional Caregiver of the Year in 2013 by the Alzheimer Association of Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana, an award based on peer nomination.

A Community of Purpose

Provision Living at Beaumont Centre broke ground in December 2015 and is expected to open in Spring 2017. The 88,000-square-foot community consists of several memory-care neighborhoods that offer safe, intimate areas suited to the lifestyles and needs of its memory care residents. Provision Living offers a person-directed care model, which offers each family a dedicated support coordinator who focuses on the individual needs of the resident.
