WHY PROVISION LIVING FOR MEMORY CARE?

arrow down

You’ve noticed your loved one’s memory is slowly declining. What was once forgetting a thing or two is now turning into something more frequent and more concerning, such as not taking care of themselves, over or underpaying bills, or leaving doors unlocked. It may be time for your family member to transition to senior living, specifically a memory care community. At Provision Living, we are dedicated to supporting the needs of individuals facing the unique challenges associated with memory loss.

HOW DOES PROVISION LIVING SUPPORT MEMORY CARE RESIDENTS?

Personalized care plans.

Older adults with memory loss need additional support with activities of daily living (eating, bathing, dressing). With each senior in various stages of memory loss, it’s important they receive individual care plans to meet their needs.

Our team takes the time to learn about each resident and understand their capabilities, their limitations, and what it takes to help each person lead a meaningful life. Caring for a person with memory loss often requires making adjustments daily—sometimes hourly, depending on the situation—in order to enhance the resident’s quality of life. We work with you and your loved one to achieve positive, healthy outcomes.

We know that a primary concern for families is medication management, so we provide careful oversight of medications by licensed nurses. We make the extra effort to ensure our residents and their families aren’t burdened by the worry of managing medications, trips to the doctor, or waiting in line at the pharmacy. We order, store, and dispense medications for all residents and communicate with physicians in the event that a medication dosage should be adjusted or a new medication prescribed.

Safe and secure memory care environment.

For families, the safety and security of residents in memory care is vitally important. Our memory care neighborhood is secure and designed to create a sense of openness and space to give residents the freedom of movement. Residents receive 24-hour supervision by staff who are trained to care for the specific needs and challenges of dementia. Some of our safety features include door alarms, pull chords, and advanced technology that allows us to monitor the health and well-being of our residents to help identify and prevent health concerns before they occur.

Nutritious, delicious chef and prepared meals.

Our meals are designed to serve as a bridge to the past for each resident while also engaging them in the present moment. The culinary team takes into consideration the nutritional needs, meal preferences, dietary restrictions, and eating capabilities of each resident. Meals and snacks are served throughout the day in a way that each resident finds most comfortable and at the time they wish to eat.

Cognitive-focused activities.

Each facilitated activity is designed to stimulate our residents’ minds while promoting a sense of well-being and involvement. Our memory care neighborhood contains themed sensory spaces, which allows residents to continue to use their senses and creativity. We also include a balance of scheduled and spontaneous activities that may include playing the piano, creating art, watching a movie, or making a recipe. Weather permitting, we include outdoor activities as much as possible. Residents can enjoy these activities in our secure outdoor courtyard and walking garden.

Private apartment suites.

Our apartments are private and offer kitchenettes and spacious bathrooms and closets. Weekly housekeeping and laundry services are included as well as 24/7 emergency response systems in bedrooms and bathrooms.
