When the team at Provision Living's Belevedere Commons Panama City community decided to host a picnic at Eden Gardens State Park last year they chose August for the event, and while the setting was wonderful it was a bit too warm for the group. So, this year the community is moving the picnic back to October, hoping to capture the first breezes of autumn for what looks to be a special annual event.
Eden Gardens offers a spectacular setting for the Belvedere Commons residents to enjoy, including a tour of the former timber family estate, which houses one of the largest collections of Louis XVI furniture in the United States.
"It's a gorgeous property and we had a wonderful time taking the residents in to see the home last year as they were able to enjoy the natural setting and picnic," said Lori Carpenter, executive director of the Belvedere Commons community.
In fact, many of the residents have visited Eden Gardens before and know the history well, including the fact that the logging and creation of the passage to the Gulf Intercoastal Waterway was a focal point of the park's history. The opportunity to reconnect with this community resource in the context of the Belvedere Commons lifestyle is a special thing for residents who not only enjoy the change of scenery but also the heritage rose garden, butterfly garden and reflection pond filled with Koi and lillies.
Other events for the new season include the upcoming Fall Festival, which will mark its fourth year at Belvedere Commons, and includes a cakewalk, musical entertainment outdoors and visits from the families of residents and staff, as well as numerous games and activities. Physical activity is important but there will also be a delicious bbq with baked desserts to satisfy resident's appetites.

Family events and theme-based entertainment take place year-round at Belvedere Commons Panama City and we will take time to update our blog with information regarding these activities. Belvedere Commons is a relatively new member to the Provision Living team and they're excited to see some new updates to the community such as automatic doors and ceiling fans in the common areas. While small in detail these features are wonderful for the residents and extend the comforts of day-to-day life in the community.
We're very excited to have Belvedere Commons at Panama City as part of Provision Living and to have the opportunity to get to know Ms. Carpenter and her team of caregivers. We look forward to updates in the near future on happening with this assisted living community.
