GreenTree at Westwood
GreenTree at Westwood is located in the West End of Columbus, Indiana, just off Highway 46 and approximately 40 miles from Indianapolis. Our campus is set in wooded residential area near Tipton Lakes and is convenient to a variety of shopping and dining establishments, including local favorites Nienaber’s Farm Market and Dag’s Deli.
Columbus is renowned for its architecture and public art installations, as well as its history of innovation and design. National Geographic Traveler has named Columbus as on one of the top historic destinations in the United States. Our community of 58 apartments is set in a beautiful three floor building featuring the amenities of a classic hotel, including a grand staircase, bright and welcoming lobbies, two elevators, concierge services, a variety of community spaces and a restaurant-style dining room where the tables are set for every meal.
People with Purpose
Our associates focus on maintaining a supportive and encouraging spirit that helps brighten the lives of our residents. Team members are trained to provide residents with the right amount of assistance, whether they need a little help with dressing or a friendly escort to dinner. Our open-door policy encourages daily interaction between our leadership team, residents and staff, creating a unique environment filled with encouragement, companionship and love.
GreenTree at Westwood understands that even as seniors adjust to different stages in their lives, they maintain a desire to try new things, meet new people and maintain the relationships they’ve established. Often our residents create entirely new hobbies and friendships and end up experiencing a vibrant change in lifestyle.
We believe that the power of connection is a solution to the isolation and loneliness that seniors often experience. Community connections include visiting students from Bartholomew County schools working with our residents on projects like building bird feeders, writing Christmas cards and making blankets, and we host churches and youth groups for weekly bible studies. Many of our residents also know each other from church, work or school days but everyone is welcomed with open arms. Our residents and their families often tell us that they didn’t know life could be so engaging after retirement!
Our chef has been creating healthy, fresh meals at our community for over 16 years and sees the dining experience as an extension of caregiving. Food is not only a way to nourish the body – it also serves as an integral part of cultural celebrations and encourages socializing and the expressions of friendship and togetherness. Our culinary team offers a choice of two entrees at lunch and dinner and regularly incorporates favorite recipe suggestions from residents, created with a healthy twist. Almost everything on our menu is made from scratch and we serve a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, as well as homemade desserts.
